THE DOUGLAS LLOYD-JENKINS COLLECTION OF MODERN DESIGN & DECORATOR ITEMS
2nd March 2011
Douglas Lloyd-Jenkins is the respected director of the Hawkes Bay Museum, an insightful curator and the leading authority on New Zealand mid-century design and applied arts. He is the author of the definitive publication on the subject – (referred to almost on a daily basis at A+O) At Home – A Century of New Zealand Design, published in 2004.
The sale of his collection – including rare pieces by Frank Carpay, Mirek Smisek, Garth Chester and John Chrichton – was an event as well a genuine gathering of enthusiasts.
